Sealed bids will be received in the office of the City Clerk, 1401 Walnut Street, Vicksburg, Mississippi – 39180 of the City of Vicksburg, Mississippi (The Owner) until 10:00 a.m., local time, on August 10, 2022. They will be publicly opened and read aloud by the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg in a Board Meeting at 10:00 a.m., August 10, 2022, for supplying all labor and materials necessary for the construction of the 2022 STREET RESURFACING PROGRAM, VICKSBURG, MISSISSIPPI (the Project).

The project consists of providing services for milling, repair of base failures, asphalt overlay, concrete panel repairs, installation of curb and gutter, adjusting of castings, gratings, and utility appurtenances, and necessary traffic control to safely perform construction items. The project base bid is located on Roads “A”, “B”, “C”, “D”, “E’ of Cedar Hills Cemetery.

Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi Law and have a Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors. Non-resident bidders must include a copy of the non- resident contractor’s current state law.

The above general outline of features of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein.

A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at the offices of AJA Management at Waggoner Engineering, 1414 Washington Street, Vicksburg, Mississippi 39180 at 10:00 A.M. on July 25, 2022.

Bidders are cautioned that the City Clerk does not receive the daily U.S. Mail on or before 9:00 a.m. Bids will be time-stamped upon receipt according to City Clerk’s time clock.

Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check of the bidder, or a Bid Bond prepared on the form of a bid bond as included herein, duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company licensed by the State of Mississippi and signed by an agent resident in Mississippi, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid.

Bidders shall also submit a current financial statement, if requested by the City of Vicksburg. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount.

The duration of construction is 100 calendar days after the issuance of Notice to Proceed and the liquidated damages will be $1,200 per consecutive calendar day past the approved completion date. Copies of the drawings and specifications, including the contract documents may be obtained upon payment of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each set, which will not be refunded from the offices of:

If the bid documents are to be mailed an additional $10.00 is required to cover the mailing charges. Bid documents will be mailed through first class mail on the second working day after receiving the payment. Neither AJA Management/Waggoner Engineering, Inc., nor the City of Vicksburg is responsible or liable for any delays in mail deliveries.

The City of Vicksburg strongly encourages the use of Minority, Women Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in the performance of the work. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities. Bids on the Project must be received on or before the period scheduled for the Project and no bid can be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the Project for a period of sixty (60) days.
